The 2025 state testing results are in—and they reflect the COURAGE, commitment, and excellence of our entire FCS community. From our youngest learners to our graduating seniors, the data tells a powerful story: We’re rising together.

🌟 Five schools earned GREEN overall ratings: Westridge • Collins Lane • Peaks Mill • Franklin County High • Western Hills High 👏 Let’s celebrate these incredible teams!

📊 District-wide highlights:
✅ High Schools: Blue & Green across nearly every category—including Reading/Math, Graduation Rate, and Postsecondary Readiness
✅ Middle Schools: Elkhorn earned Blue & Green in every area; Bondurant showed growth in key indicators
✅ Elementary Schools: Consistent Green ratings across all categories, with 100% of student subgroups improving or maintaining in academics and climate

📈 Performance gains worth cheering:
🔹 11% more high school students reached proficiency in reading and math
🔹 7% more elementary students were proficient in math 🔹 4% more elementary students were proficient in reading 🔹 100% of middle and elementary subgroups improved in school climate and safety survey responses
🔹 100% graduation rate for African American and EL students over five years
🔹 Overall high school graduation rate: 96.2% (4-year) and 97.6% (5-year)

November is Youth Homeless Awareness Month, a reminder that many students face housing challenges that aren’t always visible. In Franklin County Schools, we support between 150–200 students each year who qualify for help under the McKinney-Vento Act. This law is designed to make sure students can stay in school, stay connected, and get the support they need—whether they’re sharing housing, staying in a motel or shelter, or don’t have a stable place to sleep. If you or a friend needs help, you can talk to your school’s FRYSC coordinator or the district Homeless Liaison, Cassandra Adams. Support is confidential and judgment-free..

Next week Bridgeport will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week! The Red Ribbon Campaign has been going since 1985 to unite communities across the nation in taking a stand against drugs. Bridgeport students and staff are commited to a drug-free lifestyle and we will celebrate each day with a fun dress up activity! We look forward in having fun with you as we stand up and say NO to drugs!

🍧What better way to end the week than with Kona Ice!? 🍧 ✨Today we celebrated our Students of the Month for showing Respect. Homeroom teachers had many wonderful things to say about how our tigers show respect to adults and to their peers here at school and we couldn't be more proud. ❤️💙💚🖤We welcomed new students into their dens and represented our dens with so...many...coins!! ❤️💙💚🖤 In the end 🖤Altruismo🖤 took the win with 2,622 gold coins!! We hope all of our tigers have a fantastic Fall Break full of fun, family, friends and fantastic memories! We will see you back at Bridgeport on Monday 10/13! 🐯❤️

✨WOW✨ Look at these mathematicians! Mrs. Gregory's students were working on multi-step addition word problems. They worked in groups to model and make sense of the question, and then solving with the standard algorithm. It was a challenging lesson, but they worked incredibly hard! #FCScourage #bpeTigers #MathRocks

🐯Bridgeport Open House Night🐯 Families were invited back to the classroom for a night of learning: 💚What's your child's daily schedule is like? 💚How can I help my child grow academically? 💚How do I know my child is successful? 💚What expectations does my chil's teacher have for them? 💚What is my child currently learning about? 🌟Building strong connections between home and school ensure our students feel a sense of belonging! 🚧Caution: Mathematicians at Work!🚧 Mrs. Burus's class explored the distributive property in a hands-on way! Students built arrays with playdoh, then “broke apart” their arrays by cutting them into smaller sections. They wrote multiplication equations to match each part, which helped them see how larger facts can be split into easier facts. It was a fun and visual way to make a tricky concept click! #FCScourage #bpeTigers #MathRocks
