Opera for the Young never disappoints! This year we watched a wonderful western themed performance that had everyone giggling and smiling. Some of our students were chosen to be part of the cast as a choir and a couple even had speaking part! #DeeperLearning #MusicEducation #OperaForAll

The opera is working alongside our Bridgeport Tigers today!

Bridgeport welcomed Skool Aid into our gym yesterday for an amazing assembly!
Mr. Ian and Mazzi shared a message about disabilities and positive mindset. They reminded students that they hold a special power to brighten someone’s day and that their response to a situation makes all the difference.
Mazzi, who competed on Team USA at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, demonstrated an adaptive sport — wheelchair basketball — for the students.
Students and faculty had the opportunity to try the sport themselves, joining Mazzi and Mr. Ian in a wheelchair basketball game. It was a very close game but in the end Mazzi’s team was victorious!!

Last week, we celebrated Read Across America Week. Mrs. McCoy turned the library into Camp Read-A-Lot. These Kindergarteners had a blast reading with their flashlights.

Our second graders finished up their insect unit and had a special visitor last week! They were able to see some insects up close and personal and learn some interesting facts about them!

It's National Pancake Day and Principal Beach put on her Chef hat to make pancakes for all the staff this morning! Thank you Mrs. Beach 💚 #OneTeamFCS #bpeTigers #PrincipalFunDay

Last week, we had cap and gown pics taken for our precious Kindergarten students. Here's a behind the scenes sneak peak from the day! #GrowingUp #CapAndGown #KindergartenRocks

Today was No One Eats Alone Day and we had some wonderful volunteers come in and help us celebrate! Our students loved having fun "would you rather" conversations with them! There was laughter filling the cafeteria as they discussed and gave their answers. We are so appreciative of parents that take the time to come into our school and volunteer!

Dear FCS community, please see the following message from Superintendent Kopp:
Our bus drivers came in today and drove their routes to help determine if we could be in school tomorrow. Unfortunately they came back with numerous concerns and areas that made it just not feasible for us to be in tomorrow.
As much as I hate it, it will be NTI day #9 for Franklin County. ASP’s will be open. Only ASP workers, bus mechanics and essential maintenance and custodial staff as directed by their supervisors need to report to work in person. All other employees will work remotely.
We have a Google doc with all of the concerning areas that we will be sharing with both the county and state road departments tomorrow for them to treat with the hope of being back in school on Tuesday.
Stay safe!
